MEET LONNIE AFFRIME

Lonnie grew up in Cherry Hill, NJ. He went to public school, played soccer and baseball every year at Lafferty Field, and has never understood why people from states like Ohio think they are entitled to make fun of New Jersey.

Originally raised as a conservative Republican, Lonnie became a progressive in high school with the assistance of a few teachers and his own extensive research. He later graduated summa cum laude from Rutgers University–New Brunswick, where he studied politics, economics, and philosophy.

After college, he taught high school in Washington, DC through Teach For America and spent a decade working in a variety of political offices and campaigns.

Over time, disillusioned by the rampant, systemic corruption, Lonnie pivoted into entrepreneurship, becoming the Founder and CEO of Voltaire, a legal cannabis business in South Jersey built around giving back to the community.

Lonnie served as a New Jersey delegate for Bernie Sanders at the Democratic National Convention in 2016

For years, Lonnie has also been writing and performing stand-up and YouTube comedy under the alias Leo Ashe
